Naples Florida Backcountry Fishing Report

Another good week fishing the backcountry in Naples in lieu of some tough conditions. The wind blew hard for a few days mid week behind the approaching front. We were able to get in the lee of some islands and also fish downwind. Long time client and friend John Wittemore battled and landed a feisty 90lb black tip shark caught in 5′ of water. New client Richie Schaefer’s goal was to catch his first snook and redfish which he accomplished. I’m starting to see a few tarpon off the beaches as they slowly but surely start their spring migration. Weather looks to stabilize this week in the Naples area and with the good morning/mid day incoming tides fishing should be good.

Give me a call, let’s fish. Experience the backcountry saltwater mangrove estuaries of Naples, Marco Island, the 10,000 Islands and Everglades National Park. Light tackle sport fishing for snook, redfish, tarpon, trout, pompano, bonita, sharks and other saltwater species.
