Growing up in southern MI I remember as a wee lad my grandfather and I driving north to Orchard Lake where he would mount his 25 hp Evinrude on a rental boat and we’d pursue bass, crappie, sunfish and walleye, I’ve enjoyed fishing ever since.

I’ve been guiding and fishing the backcountry of south Florida for over 25 years. I received my USCG license in 1987. In 1990, I was invited to join the Orvis Endorsed Guide staff. In 1992 this turned into the Everglades Angler Fly shop. For sixteen years I ran the shop, Guide Service and guided part-time. Missing the water, in 2009 I went back to guiding full-time and doing what I love, being on the water, fishing, meeting new people and enjoying the outdoors. I especially enjoy kids, helping them catch fish and teaching them about the flora and fauna of this special estuary. Spin, plug or fly fishing, I love it all.
