Fishing Naples Marco Island January 28, 2015

In lieu of the cold fronts and wind the fishing remains steady in the backcountry. As is usual for this time of year there is rockin’ action and a wide variety of species being caught.

Two days ago, between fronts was a pleasant cool, clear bluebird day. Although the water temp had dropped to the mid 60’s I felt it would be a good day and it was. Fishing with David Mikaski and his two friends from high school we managed eight species and lots of action. We didn’t catch any trophies but had a great time. Then yesterday fishing with Dr. Bill Todd and his friend Glen and his wife Simona we had another good day. Not sure if we had more fun catching fish or pulling each others chain. Black drum, speckled sea trout, redfish, snook, snapper, sheepshead, bonita and triple tail are all possibilities this time of year.

Spots are limited. The next couple months are the busiest of the year so book now to get a spot.

Below are a couple shots of some recent catches.
